Google+ Adds CityVille To Growing Games Collection

We Built This CityVille On Google+

When Google+ first added games in August, there were rumors that Zynga's CityVille would not be available because it was exclusive to Facebook. However, on Monday Google announced that Zynga's CityVille has been added to Google's social networking site.

This news came via an update posted by Punit Soni, the lead product manager of Google+ games and mobile, on her Google+ profile.

Soni wrote,

Welcome Zynga's CityVille to Google+ games! If you've played CityVille before, you know how much fun it is to build your own virtual city, and then work with friends to help it grow. On Google+ you can use your circles to share updates with the people you want to and keep news of your civic accomplishments limited to just the right audience.

We're excited to add another great game to the mix, and we'll have more news to share in the very near future. But enough talk -- I have a City Hall to build!

CityVille is the second Zynga game to be made available on Google+. The other is Zynga Poker, which was added, along with 11 other games, including Angry Birds, Bejewled Blitz and Sudoku, during the initial launch of the games section. (See the full list of games that are available on Google+ here.)

Users an access CityVille and other games via the "Games" icon in their Google+ screen. There they can add games, share scores and see how well the people in their circles are doing in their own games. They can also make circles that are specifically for games, so only contacts who care about how many reputation points you have see those updates.

In case you missed the update, Google+, which initially launched to only a limited group of users, is now available to any and all. Are you new to Google+? Here's a guide to the new social networking site.
