NBA Center Faces Felony Charges After Weekend Arrest

Detroit Pistons center Ben Wallace was arrested at 3 a.m. on Saturday in Bloomfield Township, MI. on suspicion of drunken driving, the Detroit Free Press reports.

It gets worse. Per the report, police found an unloaded pistol in a backpack in his 2007 Cadillac Escalade. Along with being charged with a 93-day misdemeanor for drunken driving, Wallace faces a 5-year felony charge for carrying a concealed weapon.

The Bloomfield Township Police Department issued a press release on the incident (Via The Morning Journal):

"Mr. Wallace was arrested without incident for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated. A subsequent search of his vehicle revealed an unloaded pistol in a backpack which was in the passenger compartment of the vehicle"

The 15-year veteran helped the Pistons win an NBA championship in 2004. He averaged 2.9 points and 6.5 rebounds last season with the Pistons.
