If you believe the tabloids Jennifer Aniston is sad, lonely, and desperate for a baby, or alternatively she's been pregnant for oh, the last six years or so.
But the 42-year-old actress isn't sad or lonely, and she's certainly not desperate as she tells Elle magazine about the endless baby rumors.
"But it's not what you read. There's no desperation," she tells the magazine. "If it's meant to be, it's meant to be. I'm at peace with whatever the plan is. But will you hate me if I say I don't want to talk about my relationship?"
Aniston is more than entitled to keep her personal life private, but scrutinizing her every move has become somewhat of a public past time since her split with Brad Pitt a full six years ago.
Even while making her directorial debut for the Lifetime movie "Five" -- a collection of interconnected short stories about breast cancer -- which she called a "dream come true," the press still wanted to know about some unflattering comments that Pitt made about their marriage.
"Oh lord, it’s not even worth discussing on a night like this,” she said.
Despite her own success in Hollywood Aniston hasn't been able to shake Brad Pitt from her life, even from other celebrities who one would think could sympathize with reluctance to dwell on her personal life.
Recently, comedian Zach Galifianakis admitted that when Aniston was a guest on his mock talk show, "Between Two Ferns" this past February, he suggested to her that they bomb the interview with a Pitt impersonator.
"She looked at me like, 'What the f--k?'" he told the crowd at The New Yorker Festival last week. "And I totally agreed with her. How rude of me to do that! Why would she want to talk about that? She get inundated with that sh*t all the time. I totally understood."
