Victor Cruz taketh. And Victor Cruz giveth away,
In Sunday's shocking New York Giants' loss to the Seattle Seahawks, Cruz caught eight passes for 161 yards, including one amazing touchdown in the fourth quarter. Down 19-14, Eli Manning lofted a deep pass to Cruz on the right with two defenders on him. Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor got in front of the pass and tipped it high into the air behind Cruz. But the 24-year-old showed great body control, turned around and reached for the ball with one hand. Cruz made the catch and somehow stayed in stride and ran it in for the touchdown.
The Giants made the two-point conversion to take a 22-19 lead. But later in the quarter, Cruz was involved in two costly turnovers that helped shift the momentum back to Seattle. Shortly after the Giants forced a punt to get the ball back deep in their own half, Cruz caught a short pass a few yards shy of the first down and fumbled the ball on the 25-yard line. Seattle recovered and capitalized with a field goal to tie the game.
Later in the game with the Giants trailing, 29-25, Manning threw a pass to Cruz in the red zone. But the ball went off Cruz's hands and into the arms of Seattle's Brandon Browner, who returned the interception 94 yards for the touchdown.
The Seahawks would go on to win 36-25.
