Orlando Bloom, Kirsten Dunst Join 'Cities': Stars In Financial Drama

Drama For Orlando Bloom, Kirsten Dunst

Orlando Bloom and Kirsten Dunst will be co-stars once again.

According to The Wrap, the "Elizabethtown" stars have joined the financial drama, "Cities," the Roger Donaldson film that already had Clive Owen and Anil Kapoor locked into the cast. The veteran writer/director shopped the film in Cannes, selling it, according to The Hollywood Reporter, as a prologue to the financial collapse, featuring three interweaving stories that take place in New York, London and Mumbai.

Owen will play a hedge fund manager in New York driven by greed and excess, while Bloom and Dunst's parts have yet to be revealed.

Originally scheduled to shoot this fall, the film was pushed back until Spring, 2012. It will continue an largely impressive string of comeback films for Dunst following a two year hiatus from acting. She featured with Ryan Gosling in last winter's "All Good Things," and though that did not win good reviews, her role in Lars von Trier's apocalyptic epic, "Melancholia," won her a best actress nod at Cannes this past spring.

In 2012, Dunst is already scheduled to star in a trio of films: the Walter Sallas-helmed adaptation of Jack Kerouac's "On the Road," which will co-star Kristen Stewart, Garrett Hedlund and Sam Riley; "Upside Down," a romantic drama with Jim Sturgess; and "Bachelorette," with Isla Fisher, Lizzy Caplan, Adam Scott and James Marsden.

Bloom just featured in the less-than-successful adaptation of "The Three Musketeers," is currently filming "The Hobbit," will feature with Imogen Poots in the British drama, "The Laureate," and with Nick Nolte in the comedy, "Idea in America."
