Andre Glenn Rogers, Boulder Teen, Attempts To Help Disbarred Father Duane Rogers Escape From Jail

Boulder Teen Tries To Help Dad Escape From Jail

Much has been made of the bond between fathers and sons, but one Boulder teen just took that bond to the next level when he tried to help his disbarred attorney father escape from jail.

The Daily Camera reports that 19-year-old Andre Glenn Rogers pleaded guilty Tuesday to trying to help his father, 48-year-old Duane Glenn Rogers, escape from Boulder County Jail. On instructions from his father, Andre was supposed to pass a bobby pin to another inmate that was scheduled to be in court, and when that inmate returned to jail he was to give the pin to Andre’s father Duane. But an investigator confronted Andre at the trial and thwarted the attempt. Andre received a two-year deferred sentence and if stays out of trouble, the charge will be removed from his record.

What's even more surprising is Andre's father Duane, a disbarred Lafayette attorney, is accused of sexual assault of a child and allegedly fleeing to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, to avoid facing trial in 2009, according to 7News. Prosecutors believe that Duane was having a sexual relationship with a young girl from 2003 to 2008, beginning when the girl was 12-years old, The Denver Post reported in July.

Duane Rogers trial for his sex-assault charges is now rescheduled for December, along with an arraignment on escape charges, according to CBSDenver.
