Michelle Obama, Jill Biden On Holiday Traditions At The White House

Holidays At The White House

What's it like to spend the holidays in the White House? Yahoo! Shine sat down with First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden to find out.

Instead of feeling pressure to buy gifts for every child they celebrate with, the Obamas use a grab bag system. But, in order to claim a gift from the bag, Mrs. Obama explains, everyone has to perform. A song, a dance, or something creative like hula-hooping. The best part: "[Kids] love to see the grown ups being silly," she says.

As for the Bidens, no one is allowed downstairs before Joe on Christmas morning. He checks first -- just to make sure Santa came. Then they travel down together as a family to join him. And no, they don't wear matching pajamas Dr. Biden assures the First Lady.
