Illuminations At The Eiffel Tower
Paris’ answer to a traditional fireworks celebration appears in the form of a glittering Eiffel Tower on New Year’s Eve. At the stroke of midnight, one of the most recognizable structures in the world transforms into a sparkling spectacle of light, and spectators gather underneath to gaze at the LED light show. Open until 11 p.m. on Dec. 31, the tower provides the perfect vantage point to take in the City of Light when it is most lit up. Festivities within the tower range from touring and learning the history behind the iron wonder to dining in the world-famous restaurants and viewing Paris from the top. Regular admission prices (around $18 for adults) will be charged for entrance to the monument before 11 p.m., but there is no fee to witness the dazzling display at midnight.
New Year's Celebration On The Avenue Des Champs-Elysees
Ring in the new year with a Parisian rendezvous along the famed Champs-Elysees. Huge crowds congregate outside on the bustling avenue to kiss the year au revoir at midnight. In addition to beautiful historical monuments, the avenue also features some of the best restaurants, bars, clubs and cabarets the French capital has to offer. Most of the venues, including famed cabaret Lido, boast special dinners and shows available exclusively on New Year's Eve. Additional information and a complete list of venues are available on the Champs-Elysees official website.
