Gisele Named Best Green International Celebrity At Green Awards

The Greenest Model Of Them All

She's gorgeous, rich and one of Brazil's most famous faces. But did you know she's also an environmental activist?

Gisele Bundchen won the awards for Best Green International Celebrity at this weekend's Green Awards in London. The award ceremony, which aims to honor creative and innovative approaches to sustainability, picks one star as the Green Celeb of the Year based on an online public vote.

We were pleasantly surprised to see the award go to Gisele, who is more of a fashion star than a Hollywood name. Turns out, the model has been a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) since 2009.

She's also gotten involved in Brazilian environmental causes, such as the Drop of Water Movement to prevent dam building and the Clean Water Project in her hometown of Horizontina.

She's also just one of many models who devote their time and clout to charitable causes: Modelinia's got a whole list of generous stutters, from Coco Rocha's work in Haiti to Freja Beha Erichsen's gifts to Doctors Without Borders.

Of course these models can only be so generous because they're busy working like crazy, especially Gisele. See the many, many covers of Ms. Bundench, i.e. Mrs. Brady, below.
