Saints vs. Giants LIVE UPDATES: New Orleans Takes On New York On Monday Night Football

The stakes are high for both teams in tonight's "Monday Night Football" matchup as the winner will hold at least a share of first place in its respective division.

Entering the prime-time battle at the Superdome, the traveling New York Giants narrowly trail the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC East division standings but can pull even with a win. Meanwhile, the New Orleans Saints hold the slimmest of leads in the NFC South. A win for Drew Brees and company will ensure the Saints go to bed tonight in sole possession of first place while a loss will drop them into a tie with the Atlanta Falcons.

With both teams' playoff aspirations best served by a victory and a Super Bowl MVP leading each offense, this Giants-Saints tilt figures to earn it's prestigious time slot. Unlike, say, a certain Jacksonville-Baltimore game from a few weeks ago.
