A Chicago firefighter and his son allegedly beat and robbed a man Saturday in the city's Bridgeport neighborhood.
Eduardo Castro, 48, of the 1400 block of West Fuller Street and his son Eduardo Castro Jr., 24, of the 280 block of South Eleanor Street, have each been charged with one count of felony robbery and another of aggravated battery after they were arrested Saturday, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
The two stand accused of attacking a 20-year-old man and taking his North Face jacket, cell phone, keys and wallet around 4 p.m. Saturday in the 3200 block of South Aberdeen Street, according to the Chicago Tribune. The victim sustained a broken nose and was taken to Mercy Hospital and Medical Center.
After entering into a confrontation with officers while being taken into police custody, the elder Castro was also charged with a resisting arrest misdemeanor. The man has roughly a dozen arrests on his record dating back to 1985, but has yet to be convicted of any crimes. He has worked with the Chicago Fire Department for 20 years and earns an annual salary of $79,926, the Tribune reports.
The duo is expected to appear in a bond hearing Tuesday.
