Tony Fabrizio, Rick Perry's Top Pollster, Is Gay: GOProud Leader

GOProud Leader: Rick Perry's Top Pollster Is A 'Faggot'

Between updates he made on his Twitter feed and an interview he gave to The Huffington Post’s Sam Stein, the co-founder and executive director of the gay GOP group GOProud, Jimmy LaSalvia, appears to be claiming that Rick Perry’s top pollster Tony Fabrizio is gay -- and using an ugly antigay slur to describe him.

Yesterday, LaSalvia and other gay Republicans expressed outrage to Stein about Perry’s newest television ad, which criticizes President Obama for repealing "don't ask, don't tell." LaSavlia said: "It is the height of hypocrisy for Tony Fabrizio to have been a part of that. He has lined his pockets for years with money from the gay community to conduct polls to ostensibly help gay people in this country, and for him to be a part of this is the height of Washington hypocrisy.”

That same day Back2Stonewall flagged LaSalvia posting an update to his Twitter acccount:

Two hours later, he posted another Twitter update:

Reached for comment and offered to appear on my radio progam to discuss the comments, LaSaliva passed, saying that what he said to Stein said enough and that he didn’t want to "play in the outing sandbox."

Chris Barron, GOProud co-founder also tweeted yesterday:

Fabrizio apparently was uncomfortable with the ad, calling it “nuts.” LaSalvia told Stein if that was the case and it aired despite his objections Fabrizio should have quit the campaign.
