Chicago Baconfest 2012: VIP Tickets Selling Out Fast (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

Update: Seth Zurer, co-founder of Baconfest Chicago, tells us that additional VIP tickets have been made available. Have at it, pork fans.

If Chicagoans hadn't already proven their undying love for bacon, the quick-as-a-flash sellout of VIP tickets for 2012's "Baconfest" really drove the point home.

The third annual festival released 150 VIP tickets for sale at noon Monday, and by 12:15 both sessions, lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and dinner from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., had sold out.

Last year, chefs from some of the city's top restaurants--and their bacony creations--brought more than 1,500 pork lovers to the University of Illinois-Chicago Forum, where the event will be hosted again this year, on April 14, 2012.

General Admission tickets will cost $75 and will go on sale sometime next year. A portion of ticket sales will be donated to the Greater Chicago Food Depository, the festival's beneficiary since its inception.
