'The Biggest Loser' Season 13 Twist

A new twist is in store for fans of "The Biggest Loser" when the show comes back for Season 13. The pairs participating in the new season will compete against one another instead of as a team.

The couples, including parents and kids, spouses, siblings and friends, won't find this out until they arrive at "The Biggest Loser" ranch. And in another twist, one couple won't make it to the ranch. "The Biggest Loser: No Excuses" kicks off Tues., Jan. 3 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.

Contestants for this season include:

Parent and adult child teams:

Gail Lee, 57, and her daughter, Lauren Lee, 26, of Poolesville, Maryland. Gail is a realtor and Lauren an exercise physiologist.

Mark Cornelison, 43, and his son, Isaac "Chism" Cornelison, 19, of Magnolia, Texas. Mark is a youth pastor and Isaac is a student.

Kim Stone, 48, and her daughter, Megan Stone, 21, of Dittmer, Missouri. Kim is an registered nurse and Megan is a student and support staff for organization that assists disabled adults.

Grandparent and grandchild team:

Nancy Rajala, 63, and her granddaughter, Cassandra Sturos, 25, of Fowlerville, Michigan. Nancy is retired and Cassandra is an in-home senior caregiver

Siblings:

Conda Britt, 24, and her brother, Jeremy Britt, 22, of Rockford, Michigan. Conda is a nutrition health services tech and Jeremy is a banker.

Adrian Dortch , 34, and his sister, Daphne Dortch, 37, of Evanston, Illinois. Adrian is a music producer and community activist and Daphne is a paralegal/kids activity team member.

Joe Messina, 38, of Auburn, New York, and his brother, Mike Messina, 41, of Oakland, California. Joe is a truck driver and Mike is a cook.

Allen "Buddy" Shuh, 42, of Wayne, Michigan and his brother, Ben Shuh, 34, of Howell, Michigan. Allen is a pastor and Ben is a retail store manager.

Spouses:

Christine Pickler, 42, and her husband, Roy Pickler, 63, of Middlebury, Indiana. They are both self-employed and Roy is also "Santa Claus," according to NBC.

Strangers:

Emily Joy, 29, of Huntersville, North Carolina, and Kim Nielsen, 38, Roswell, Georgia. Emily is a teacher and Kim is a former pro wrestler.
