Brielle Latoi Orridge, Bronx Woman, Smuggles Cocaine In Shoes On Flight

A 19-year-old Bronx woman faces up to 40 years in prison for allegedly smuggling three pounds of cocaine in her shoes at Houston's Bush Intercontinental airport, the New York Daily News reports.

Brielle Latoi Orridge was flying through Houston from Montego Bay to New York on Continental Airlines on Sunday when her bag was searched by customs officials, YourHoustonNews.com reports. Officials found two pairs of shoes in her luggage stuffed with cocaine.

Orridge was charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than 500 grams of cocaine. If convicted, she faces 40 years in prison.

In February, a 21-year-old woman was charged with swallowing 50 pellets of cocaine before she boarded a JetBlue flight from the Dominican Republic to Boston.
