Will Ferrell may be known for his slapstick antics and witty lines, but when it comes to charity, he's dead serious.
Ferrell told CNN that giving back is his most important work as an actor. He specifically supports the organization Cancer For College, which provides college scholarships to young cancer survivors, taking the financial burden off of families, and providing encouragement for the next step in survivors' lives.
"Honestly, I think that's the only thing fame is really good for in a way," Ferrell told CNN. "My wife and I talk about that we've gotten to experience a lot of amazing things -- we've been to the Oscars, the Golden Globes and all these fancy things. But that one night a year when we get to give out that scholarship check supersedes all of that."
The organization was started by Ferrell's University of Southern California fraternity brother -- a two-time cancer survivor. Ferrell accounts for the majority of funds and scholarships available.
