For anyone with nowhere else to go on Christmas, the Laugh Factory is opening up its doors for the 32nd annual free holiday dinner -- complete with performances by comedians Dane Cook, Arsenio Hall, Kevin Nealon, Tom Arnold and others.
Laugh Factory owner Jamie Masada said in a release, "Spending the holidays alone is no laughing matter, especially in today's economy. Many people have no family here. We create a welcoming atmosphere of family, fun and good cheer." He also added that since Hanukkah and Christmas overlap this year, the meals will also served with fried latkes, and any children who come can also expect to receive a free toy.
Who: The Laugh Factory invites "the underprivileged, the homeless and anyone alone for the holiday" for a free dinner, comedy show and toy giveaway for all the children who show up.
When: Sunday, December 25 2011. Meals and shows scheduled at 1pm, 3pm, 5pm and 7pm.
Where: The Laugh Factory, 8001 Sunset Blvd., Hollywood (Between Laurel Canyon & Fairfax)
How: Dinner will be served four times on Christmas Day, and comedians perform after each meal.
Why: Because even if you do have family in town, sometimes it's more relaxing to eat a holiday meal with some grateful strangers.
In addition to featuring top comedy acts, the Hollywood club is also known for their annual Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. For a taste of what it'll be like this Sunday, check out this video of Thanksgiving dinner that the Laugh Factory hosted for the homeless in 2010.
