Nicole Angelillo, Gerald Sapienza Get Married On Rose Parade Float In Front Of Millions

Live Wedding On A Rose Parade Float

Nicole Angelillo and Gerald Sapienza got married aboard a float in the 124th Rose Parade in Pasadena, Calif. Tuesday.

The happy couple said their "I Do's" while riding "The Love Float," Farmers Insurance's 54th entry in the New Year's Day parade. That's because earlier this year, Nicole submitted her love story in a contest for a dream wedding put on by Farmers Insurance, and the couple won.

Nicole said she was grateful that Farmers Insurance was allowing her and Gerald to "concentrate on us" by providing the wedding dress, tuxedo, rings, and flowers (from the Phoenix Decorating Company).

She can be seen in the video below picking out her wedding dress. The lucky lovers were also given a pair of tickets to the Rose Bowl game after the parade.

The couple grew up in the same neighborhood in Chesapeake, Virginia, and Nicole had a secret crush on Gerald, but the two never actually met, according to Farmer's Insurance. Ten years later, they met on an online dating site and hit it off right away.

Nicole and Gerald had planned to webcast their wedding for older, out-of-state relatives who could not travel to a wedding in Virginia, the Examiner reports. Instead, television stations broadcast the ceremony for millions across the country.
