Man Shot Multiple Times, Trapped In Trunk During Carjacking

A man was critically injured Monday night during a carjacking in Chicago's Little Village neighborhood.

According to police, the 24-year-old man was carjacked at gunpoint by four men wearing ski masks around 9:30 p.m. in the 2500 block of South Pulaski before being shot multiple times and stuffed into the trunk of his own car, the Chicago Tribune reports.

The man somehow escaped from the trunk near Arthington Street and Pulaski Road, was found there by police and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, according to the Tribune.

Police later found the man's stolen car, which had been torched, in a garage in the 4100 block of West Harrison, ABC Chicago reports.

No one is yet in custody in the crime and no motives have been released as of Tuesday. The carjacking victim remained in critical condition early Tuesday, according to NBC Chicago.
