Yesterday reports that Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel had gotten engaged sometime in late December hit the web, and today Justin's grandmother, Sadie Bomar, confirmed that yes, the two are engaged.
A staffer for the "Wendy Williams Show" did some investigative work and called Timberlake's grandmother who lives in Tennessee and she spilled the beans.
According to the staffer, Bomar said she thinks the reports that Justin and Jessica became engaged were true and that she believes it happened over the holidays. Justin's grandma said she thinks the couple wanted to enjoy their holidays in peace and that his publicity team had a put a hold on the big news. She also said that she's excited for them and she's met Jessica several times and thinks she's a "lovely, sweet girl."
Sadie is the second family member of a celebrity this week to let a secret slip. Lily Allen's mother, Alison Owen, revealed her granddaughter's name, which had been kept out of the press, when she messaged a friend on Facebook.
Of course grandma would find it hard to keep the good news quiet, but this isn't the first time the press has turned to Sadie Bomar for comment.
Back in 2009, Justin's grandmother confirmed that the couple had broken up. Back then, Sadie told reporters, "Jessica was keen to marry, but Justin isn't ready ... The girlfriends come and go, but we believe nothing has ever been serious."
