'The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson': Tom Selleck Had a 'Caddyshack' Gopher Experience (VIDEO)

More than three decades after its release, "Caddyshack" is still the movie most people think about gophers come up in conversation. Tom Selleck told Craig Ferguson on "The Late Late Show" (Weeknights, 12:30 a.m. EST on CBS) about his passion for planting native oak trees. It's his own personal Johnny Appleseed crusade, and it usually goes along just fine.

"I went up to where the oak tree was and there was a hole, and this gopher had pulled the whole little baby native oak tree into the ground," he said. Then, Ferguson saw a darker side to Selleck. "Poison's worse for 'em," the actor explained. "I became like Bill Murray in 'Caddyshack.' I killed a lot of gophers!

"I just wanted him to take the poison back to the house, way down underground and share it," he said calmly, to which Ferguson called him a "gopher Stalin."

Tom Selleck can be seen Fridays at 10 p.m. EST on CBS' "Blue Bloods," while "The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson" is on every weeknight at 12:30 a.m. EST on CBS.
