Daniel Radcliffe 'SNL' Opening Monologue Skewers Bad Harry Potter Jokes (VIDEO)

WATCH: Radcliffe Skewers Bad Harry Potter Jokes In 'SNL' Monologue

It went without saying that Daniel Radcliffe's opening monologue on "Saturday Night Live" would be mostly about "Harry Potter," but now that the movies are over he was able to have a little fun at the expense of the fans.

Radcliffe gave an earnest thank you to all the young people who loved the novels and films, but also reminded his adult fans that they were reading children's books.

He then went on to address the question that most of us had on our minds: will there be a "Harry Potter" sketch? According to Radcliffe, he pleaded with producer Lorne Michaels that they avoid trite Potter jokes like "Harry Pottery Barn" and "Harry Pothead" and lazy concepts like "Jersey Shore Hogwarts", even as all the characters eagerly entered the stage behind him.

Watch the whole clip above and let us know how you thought Radcliffe did as host.
