Golden Globes Winners 2012: Acceptance Speech Cliches & Music Interruptions (VIDEO)

WhoThe Globes Winners Thank: Video Of Speech Cliches & Music Cut-Offs

"You don't need to thank everyone you've ever met or members of your family that have done nothing for this. Just do the main two: your agent and God," warned Golden Globes host Ricky Gervais. And "Shameless" star William H. Macy and his wife Felicty Huffman of "Desperate Housewives" even sang about the "blah, blah, blah" tendencies of awards show acceptance speeches.

But despite the prefaced mockery, the winners at the 2012 Golden Globes still couldn't help but succumb to every single cliche. From thanking their fellow nominees to higher beings to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, most of the honorees' "thank you's" sounded like an example from Accepting An Honor For Dummies, as you can see in the video above.

Still, there were a few shining moments poking fun at the uniformity of it all. Meryl Streep, for example, said she wanted to thank "God, Harvey Weinstein."

Of course, with all the people that the winners wanted to appreciate -- see Laura Dern's love for "everyone in the room" -- the wrap-up music was in full force at the 2012 Golden Globes. And the orchestra didn't hold back for anyone. From Kate Winslet to Madonna to a relentless Streep, see who got musically gonged and who stood their ground in the video below.
