Brave Dog, Tucker, Saves Family From Fire

Tiny Dog Protects Family In Late Night Fire

Big heroes can come in very small packages.

That's the case for Tucker, a tiny Yorkie/Beagle mix, who saved the Gray family from their burning home in Haverhill, Mass., last week by barking -- eventually getting the attention of India Gray, his owner, who got her sons out of the house in time NBC reported.

The one-year-old pup had been a gift for the family just eight months prior, brought home by India Gray's husband -- who died shortly thereafter in an accident -- and who the Gray family believes was watching over them.

"I was just happy that we got everybody out and that everyone was together," Lucien Gray, India's son, told the new source.

But tiny Tucker isn't the only brave dog fighting fires.

In the same part of Massachusetts a dog named Bear, a Golden Doodle who doesn't bark much, woke a family up to alert them of a fire that had started in the middle of the night. According to the Boston Herald, everyone got out safely, thanks to Bear.

"The house was destroyed, but we're all here," Evelyn Janes, Bear's owner, told WCVB TV. "That's what counts."
