Florida's new crime trend? Violence against machines. Yesterday we wrote about a man who attacked a Starbucks coffee machine with a hammer.
Today we hear that deputies in Polk County are looking for a man who shot up a laundromat's change machine in an apparent attempt to steal its contents.
According to the incident report, on January 4, at 9 p.m., a man wearing a gray hoodie entered a Winter Haven Busy Bubbles. The surveillance video shows him walk up to the change machine, and fire a semi-automatic handgun several times.
Sheriff's detectives report that when the Busy Bubbles' business manager eventually saw the damage to the machine, she reviewed surveillance video, saw the shooting, and notified police.
Polk County Sheriff's detectives are looking for a black male about 5'1" tall and weighing 185 pounds. The night of the incident he was wearing a gray hoodie and dark baby blue pants, presumably without change in the pockets.
