Man Blames Dog For Killing His Wife

A husband accused of killing his wife says it was man's best friend who ended her life.

The Irish Times reports that a German man, who was convicted of manslaughter last year, got a new trial after he claimed the couple's dog sat on his wife and suffocated her. A coroner dismissed the man's claims and said the strangulation marks on the woman's throat couldn't have been caused by the dog, according to the Times.

This isn't the first time an accused husband has blamed the dog for his wife's untimely demise.

In August the Philadelphia Inquirer reported that a husband was arrested after he claimed his wife's death was caused by her pit bull. The medical examiner in the case said it was very unusual for pit bulls to kill their owners.

In March, KTLA in Los Angeles reported that a man claimed he was trying to kill his dog when he accidentally shot and killed his wife.
