This tragi-comic short film showcases the perils and pitfalls that Hollywood ingenues face when they first get to town.
In her first ever "Hollywood Audition," actress Lindsay Ames thinks she's trying out for "Project Coffee" when the casting director abruptly informs her that the commercial is shirtless.
"This is awkward," the director says. "Let me just be straight with you, Lindsay. If you don't want to do this, it's cool. If you want to proceed ... do you want the job, is what I'm saying."
And proceed she does, through tears and a wobbly smile. Yes, you'll feel like a monster when you crack up while she's crying, but rest assured Ames has "learned" her lesson. The YouTube video description: "I just moved to Los Angeles to pursue my dream of acting. I should have listened to my mother."
The short film was screened on Tuesday during the "Holy F*ck" comedy lineup at the Downtown Independent. Check out LindsayAmes.com to learn more about the LA-based comedienne, and catch her appearance in the upcoming film "The Vow," starring Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams.
