There isn't a function Chelsea can't hook up at, as proven this week on "Are You There, Chelsea?" (Wed., 8:30 p.m. EST on NBC). When Sloane hosted a church-sponsored "Celibacy Jam" at the bar, everyone was impressed with the lead singer of the band. As Chelsea mused, even a christian rock singer is still a rock singer. Plus, he was good-looking ... and only 23 years old.
When he didn't show up for his second set, Sloane went looking for him. Olivia tried to cover for Chelsea, but Sloane quickly realized both Chelsea and the singer were missing. At the same time, Chelsea was realizing that this guy was simply too innocent for her.
Too innocent for her perhaps, but perfect for fellow virgin Dee Dee. So Chelsea set the two of them up, and things were going great. That is, until the truth about his almost-tryst with Chelsea in the back of his van. It took an over-the-top romantic gesture and one terrible song to convince Dee Dee to give him another shot, but it worked. She's a romantic at heart after all.
Chelsea's more pragmatic. When she realized everyone was at the bar being touched emotionally by the video and the burgeoning love story unfolding before them, she also realized that meant the apartment was empty. Let them have their emotional moment. She was going to have her fireman.
