J.B. Smoove Experiences 'Real New York' On 'The Ruckus'

J.B. Smoove works mostly in Los Angeles, but he grew up in the New York area, so he's always excited to make his way home. On Comedy Central's new stand-up comedy series "Russell Simmons Presents: The Ruckus" (Thu., 10 p.m. EST on Comedy Central), Smoove plays host to all the talent, but he does more than introduce the acts.

Each episode, and there have been two so far, features a video short starring Smoove. In the first episode, he stole Russell Simmons' phone, while in the second he was walking the streets with the series' in-house mixmaster, DJ Cassidy. Since he was back home, Smoove wanted to "do some real New York stuff."

Cassidy thought giant pretzels was pretty New York, but before he knew what was happening, the two of them were running down the street having just stolen an old lady's purse. While they may have thought they got away with it, apparently modern New York old ladies are both fast and packing heat. She got her purse back at gunpoint, and then mugged them in return.

The six-episode run of "Russell Simmons Presents: The Ruckus" continues Thursdays at 10 p.m. EST on Comedy Central).
