As simple as it seems, getting your foundation right can be a tricky affair. Figuring out how much coverage is the right amount, matching the shade to your skin tone and factoring in the time of the year (how ever tan or pale you may be) are all things to consider. Some of us prefer a sheer look during the day, but at night, a more even, matte effect feels sophisticated and evening-appropriate. The bottom line is we want it to look natural, even and never cakey. Honestly, the art is in the the application.
We've teamed up with makeup artist Annamarie Tendler who's revealed how to get both a lighter daytime finish, as well as a full-coverage version. Check out the video, then click through our gallery to see which celebs have the "flawless skin" look down pat.
Meanwhile, you'll never guess which beauty brand is debuting liquid foundation.
