Some time in the past few years striped tees became as ubiquitous as the plain white shirt. We credit J.Crew for bringing heritage brand Saint James to the masses (thank you, Jenna Lyons!). All of a sudden those stripes that were previously reserved for babies in Petit Bateau are now a key part of stylish women's wardrobes everywhere.

Part nautical, part Parisian-inspired, there's something very chic about the classic look. Here at Stylelist we especially love a piece that can be worn many different ways, and this closet staple certainly fits the bill: tucked into cropped jeans you're channeling Audrey Hepburn, or pair it with leather pants to tone down the biker look. We love to dream that we are wearing our stripes over a bikini in St. Barts rather than sitting in our cubicle. Sigh. For now we'll dream of warm days ahead when we'll live in our stripes and cutoffs.
