Detroit Steps Up Revenue Collection

Detroit for years has failed in collecting revenue it's owed, but now, facing a financial crunch, officials are making considerable efforts to recoup outstanding debts.

Residents and nonresidents alike have been allowed to skate by on everything from personal property and corporate income taxes to parking tickets and code violations. That's tens of millions of dollars in revenue that's outstanding -- cash that could be used to solving some of the city's financial woes.
