LOOK: What MTA's 'Fastracking' Looks Like

Earlier this year, the MTA began its first round of weeknight shutdowns to accommodate repairs and construction for its Fastrack plan. While many groaned at the inconvenience and unprecedented shift from the usual 24-hour service, some neat photos are proving the agency is actually doing serious work while we snooze.

The large-scale, nightly shutdowns allow for 800 MTA workers to be unleashed underground to do all kinds of inspections, repairs, renovations, you name it so that the agency can "clean house." If they put these pictures to music it would make a great makeover montage.
