Newt Gingrich Caught Nodding Off Before Speaking To AIPAC Conference (VIDEO)

Newt Caught Napping

Newt Gingrich was caught nodding off before he spoke at the America Israel Public Affairs Committee Tuesday.

ABC News captured a video of the former House speaker closing his eyes before he spoke via satellite feed to the audience. "Listening to [Secretary of Defense Leon] Panetta is not a relaxing experience," he said before going live.

The former House speaker went on to say that he looked forward to the panel's questions. Mitt Romney, who spoke earlier, had taken questions from a panel following his speech. Rick Santorum, however, did not.

There was a pause and the introducer said there were no questions and he could continue. Gingrich then went ahead and began his remarks, which targeted President Barack Obama over his position on Iran. However, he was later interrupted for two questions from the same AIPAC board member.

Gingrich campaigned in Alabama and Georgia ahead of watching the election results in Atlanta. He has vowed to win the Georgia primary, where he served in the U.S. House for 20 years.
