iPad Shipping Date Delayed For Some Models

Some iPad Orders Delayed -- Already

Wow. It's been just over 24 hours since Apple officially unveiled the new iPad, and shipping delays have already begun!

If you were hoping to get a beautiful, brand new, snow-white iPad with 4G networking from AT&T as soon as humanly possible (or at least at the same time as everyone one else), you may have to wait a bit longer than expected.

According to Apple's website, white models of the 16GB and 64GB iPad with 4G data from AT&T will ship by March 19, as opposed to the earlier March 16 date announced at Apple's huge press event on Wednesday.

Boy Genius Report noticed the change in shipping date for these 2 models early on March 8, noting that the 32GB units were still listed with a March 16 ship date.

When we checked out Apple's online store on Thursday evening, we noticed that, in addition to delays for the white versions of 16GB and 64GB iPad 4G units from AT&T, the 64GB black version of the iPad 4G is also delayed until March 19. At the time of writing, all WiFi-only models (both white and black) from AT&T were slated to ship on time. Every configuration for Verizon is still set to ship on time, too.

According to TechCrunch, AT&T's former exclusivity contract with Apple could be the reason why those versions of the iPad are selling out so fast.

As we get closer to the ship date, we expect to see even more delays across the board.

If you just found out that you're going to have to wait an extra three days to get your new iPad, check out the slideshow (below) to see all the awesome new features you're missing.
