Re-visiting The 'She-covery'

Mike Konczal has a good post at the New Deal 2.0 blog, pointing out that much of the recent rise in female employment - the subject of my post on Friday - is a result of statistical fluctuations.

In December, the Labor Department showed a big jump in female employment, which makes recent female job growth look more rapid than male job growth. But the December jump was really a statistical adjustment, based on new survey information that allowed the department to make estimates it believed were more reliable than earlier ones.
