Karl Lagerfeld Has Never Been To A Supermarket

True or False: Karl Lagerfeld has never been to the supermarket before.

Shake your head and roll your eyes, but apparently it's true: the Chanel designer and King of All Things Fabulous has not deigned to push a metal shopping cart under harsh fluorescent lights in search of a good 2-for-1 deal in, well, ever.

The Kaiser revealed this and more in an interview in the upcoming issue of French Elle, previewed in Women's Wear Daily today. In the upcoming issue, he walks the junk food-filled aisles with wonder and tells the magazine:

"It’s the first time I’ve stepped into a supermarket. It’s crazy -- fascinating what one can buy. There’s enough here to easily gain 20 kilos."

Don't we know it. Karl also hasn't driven a car since he was 18; as he is now 78, Lagerfeld has employed a driver for a full 60 years.

And that wraps up this edition of The Fabulous Life Of Karl Lagerfeld. Tune in next time, when we may or may not discuss the Kaiser's gold-plated iPad and his refusal to eat anything that's not from Nobu.
