Glendale residents got a bear of a scare early Wednesday morning when they found a big, furry intruder pawing around their garbage bins.
Glendale city spokeswoman Vicki Gardner told KTLA that around 3:00 a.m., a man woke up to find a bear sitting next to an open fridge in his garage.
"The bear and the resident made eye contact and the resident went back inside and locked his door," said Gardner.
But the bear wasn't satisfied.
The next morning, KTLA's Eric Spillman spotted the ursine creature again and called the police. "Just saw a bear here in La Crescenta. Got my heartbeat going," Spillman tweeted at 5:50 a.m.
This isn't the first time that Glendale residents have spotted bears in their neighborhoods. In August of 2011, police told residents to lock up their trash after a 300-pound black bear was spotted several times.
