There is no stopping it now. The Madness is spreading. Quicker than a Missouri fast break. With the first full day of games having already tipped off in Lousiville, Kansas State and Southern Mississippi will start the action in Pittsburgh.
The winner of this game will advance to face the top seed in the East Region, a suddenly vulnerable Syracuse. Either K-State or Southern Miss will certainly fancy themselves a potential Cinderella if they can survive today and get a crack at Melo-less Orange.
From this game, we'll switching gears to the Wisconsin-Montana tilt out in Albuquerque (but also in the East Region). The No. 4 Badgers certainly wouldn't mind if the K-State-Southern Miss winner knocked off Syracuse well before the Sweet Sixteen.
Stay tuned for live updates throughout the game:

The Badgers opened the game with impressive offense and then locked it down with their signature defense. Impressive performance and they've got to feel terrific about the performances of Evans and Taylor.

WISC 71 - 49 MON
A Brust triple keeps the good times coming for the Badgers. Selvig misses his attempted response, keeping not much of anything coming for the Grizzlies.

Trading Free Throws
Since that last timeout, it's been a parade to the charity stripe. A pair by Evans extend the Wisconsin lead to 66-47 with about 3:30 to play. It's probably time to check out Syracuse-UNC Asheville (and we're live blogging that too...)

Working The Clock
After draining the bulk of the shot clock, Evans drives baseline and gets fouled. He's going t the line. Wisconsin leads 60-44. And now it's 61-44... and 62-44.. with 4:30 to play.

Too Much Badgering
Bruesewitz nails another three and that is followed by Berggren blocking Montana's Cherry. It's a 58-42 lead as we're under 8 minutes at the Pit. Ever since Wisconsin got its defense sort late in the first half, it's been entirely different game. The lone Montana mini-run was fueled by 3s.
03/15/2012 3:50 PM EDT
Taylor fakes himself out of his hightops on a spin move and falls down. He loses the ball but it drops right to Bruesewitz under the rim. Two points. Wisconsin has answered that mini-Montana run. Loudly.

And the Badgers Respond
Taylor winds his way back inside the Montana D to for a layup and then Bruesewitz sinks a triple. The lead is back to 15. These are the ebbs and flows of March.
03/15/2012 3:43 PM EDT
With back-to-back threes, Montana is back within 10 and we've got a ballgame with a dozen minutes to play.

Breaking The Drought
Cherry sinks a three for Montana that they needed soooo badly.

Fear The Badgers
Montana and Servig missing everything and Badgers pulling away, up 46-30.
