'Smash' Finale Gets Another Guest Star

Broadway vet Bernadette Peters is taking on the buzzed-about Broadway TV show "Smash." In addition to appearing on the March 19 episode as Ivy's (Megan Hilty) fabulous mother Leigh, the two-time Tony winner will return for the season finale.

Whether or not Karen (Katherine McPhee) will take the role of Marilyn by the time the show opens remains to be seen, but Peters will be attending regardless.

"I come to see my daughter, yes," Peters told TV Guide, without disclosing any further details.

In other casting news...

"The Good Wife" actress Anna Camp will co-star in Mindy Kaling's Fox Comedy Pilot. Trading drama for comedy, Camp is set to play best friend and partner in crime to Kaling's "Bridget Jones-esque" OB/GYN. [TVLine]

Simon Pegg is headed to '40s Los Angeles for "L.A. Noir." The "Star Trek" alum will reportedly guest star in the pilot of Frank Darabont's period drama. [TVLine]

Ulrich Thomsen will star in Alan Ball's "Banshee." In the Cinemax drama, former James Bond henchman Thomsen will play a fearless businessman who takes a giant rottweiler with him everywhere he goes and leads a dangerous gang. [THR]
