Denver Animal Adoption: Cats, Horses, Rabbits And Dogs All Available For Adoption (PHOTOS)

PHOTOS: Smile! This Week In Adoptable Pets

Just in time for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals month in April, the Denver Dumb Friends League is opening an equine center to take in Colorado's abused and neglected horses.

Astro, a beautiful brown and white sorrel gelding is one such horse who was rescued from animal cruelty.

“Our primary goal is to alleviate suffering,” said Denver Dumb Friends League President and CEO Bob Rohde. “It is our hope and desire that many of these horses will be made whole, rehabilitated and placed with new, responsible owners.”

For those who have a more house-friendly pet in mind, there are still plenty of dogs and cats who need homes. There's Nick, an orange tabby mix who likes making funny faces, a cocker spaniel mix named Edith who wants someone to give all her kisses to and take her for walks, Joe the friendly rabbit, and more.
