Mark Millar's 'Supercrooks' Teaser Trailer Directed By Nacho Vigalondo (VIDEO)

What If All The Comic Villains Went To Europe?

Scottish writer Mark Millar might be the Nicholas Sparks of the comic world, but at least his book-to-movie machine is spitting out some fun movies. Aside from "Kick Ass" (and okay, the potentially bad idea of "Kick Ass 2"), there's the upcoming "Supercrooks," a promising-looking flick based on a Millar comic book that hasn't even come out yet. The plot within is the kind that seems like it should have been done before. Riffing off the unofficial rule that superheroes tend to live in New York City, Millar asked the obvious follow-up question: if a bunch of supervillains dropped down in Europe, then what?

The answer, we hope, is less along the lines of what some Millar-suspicious critics are floating ("a string of exploding heads and c-words," says Indiewire), and more in league with the teaser trailer Millar released today to coincide with the book's release tomorrow -- a one and a half minute man-on-the-street clip that's both goofy and suspenseful, not to mention directed by the wonderfully-named and talented Nacho Vigalondo ("Timecrimes" and "Extraterrestrial"). What with the potential for "Superman"-era it's a bird it's a plane-ing embedded inside the naturalism that's so in right now in the comic movie world, we're thinking this is a project with, if nothing else, a really sweet teaser trailer. "Supercrooks," the book, hits stands tomorrow. The movie is slated to start shooting at the end of the year. Check out the preview below.
