PHOTOS: Help Select The USA Pro Cycling Challenge Poster

Cycling enthusiasts may say Colorado is the poster child for professional bike racing in the U.S. -- the state's geography and sizable (though troubled) highway budget dovetail nicely with a built-in fan base for the sport. Enthusiasm for Durango's Iron Horse Bicycle Classic (the third oldest race in the U.S.) and a handful of other races around the state serves as a testament to this.

If Colorado is cycling's poster child, though, what then should be the poster for Colorado's premier road race, the USA Pro Cycling Challenge? Organizers for the 2012 event have bravely left much of that decision up to the public.

From now through March 30, the general public can view and vote for posters in a contest on the USA Pro Cycling Challenge's Facebook page. After the 30th, host cities for the event will assemble a celebrity judging panel to select their city's poster from the finalists. A national poster will also be selected at that time.

Artists who have their poster selected will be awarded $500 cash and four (4) VIP Hospitality tickets to the stage start or finish of the city for which the Artwork was selected. Click over to the competition and vote!

We've taken the liberty of selecting a couple entries for a slideshow (below), but they represent only a few of the total. Tell us what you think -- and be sure to vote on Facebook.

While the specifics of the course route haven't officially been released, the list of 2012 host cities was leaked to the media late last year.
