New Home Designs For Baby Boomers (VIDEO)

In decades past, builders have marketed age-restricted communities to post 50s. But life has changed for many boomers: college kids are taking longer to launch, aging parents may need to move in, or unemployed siblings may be knocking on the door, looking for place to regroup.

As a result, builders are now designing homes for baby boomers that offer flexible spaces that double as spare bedrooms; hang out spaces for grown children; and even guest houses for aging parents.

In addition, Builder Magazine released 2012 concept homes, in which age-specific homes are integrated into the same neighborhood. Check out the Marketwatch video to learn more about age-diverse communities and multigenerational home concepts.
