'Pantyhose Flasher' Allegedly Exposed Himself In 9 Metro Detroit Communities Over 7 Months

WATCH: 'Pantyhose Pervert' Goes On Serial Flashing Binge

After multiple incidents spanning seven months, law enforcement officials across metro Detroit are still searching for a cross-dressing, serial flasher.

The man is believed to have visited at least 16 local businesses in the area, according to authorities, while wearing pantyhose with nothing underneath.

Commonly referred to as the "pantyhose flasher" or "pantyhose pervert," he was caught on security tape at a salon in Rochester Hills, Mich., last week. Security footage from an incident earlier this week at a clothing store in Utica shows him brushing against a woman.

The pantyhose flasher has been seen wearing black or blue pantyhose, with only a shirt or jacket on his upper half, sometimes a denim shirt, other times a black leather jacket. He has been described as 50 to 60 years old, around 6 feet tall, and over 200 pounds with a stocky upper body and skinny legs.

He has exposed himself at clothing stores for women and girls, bath and beauty supply stores and nail, hair and tanning salons.

"He doesn't necessarily want to be seen by men, he wants to be seen by women," said Lt. Ray White of the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.

White noted that there has been no evidence of the pantyhose flasher taking any action against children.

At several businesses, the man in tights has inquired about services -- like a Brazilian wax or manicure -- though to all knowledge he has not received any beauty treatments while appearing in pantyhose.

Locations of reported sightings span 60 miles across southeastern Michigan, and the flasher must be putting many miles on his car. While some witnesses reported seeing him get away in a white or champagne-colored car, law enforcement officials said they believe he drives a silver Jeep Grand Cherokee, model year between 2005 and 2009.

Police are asking for the public's help, saying individuals should call 911 if they see the flasher or 1-800-SPEAK UP with any information.

While the streak of crimes may seem unusual, Sgt. Dave Schreiner of the Canton Police Department said police are getting a lot of tips from the public. He added that stories of a man in pantyhose might seem just funny or odd, but one shouldn't laugh off the incidents.

"It's not strange or comical to the parent who has young children around who this guy is exposing himself to," Schreiner said.
