Bethenny Frankel: Mother, SkinnyGirl Mogul, Skin Care Expert?

Bethenny Frankel's given us a round of SkinnyGirl cocktails and now, she wants to help us out the morning after with her new skin care line (appropriately named 'SkinnyGirl Skin Care'). Going from margaritas to moisturizer doesn't exactly seem like a linear move, but for this business woman, reality tv star, author and mother, it's totally and completely normal. As Bethenny told us last week when we met with her to discuss the new line (sold at Walmart), her expansion into the beauty market was a simple solution to what she thought was a big problem for women in the market. She explained, "It bothered me that products were so expensive for really no difference." She continued, "the money that most companies put into their skin care goes into the packaging and not the ingredients, with our line I really wanted to focus on great, natural and affordable ingredients and honestly, [the product] does the same thing as [what's in] the $150 crystal jar."

So what sets SkinnyGirl apart from the rest is that it's accessible and affordable, with items that range from these exfoliators, to lip plumpers, tinted moisturizers, masks and face wipes, all at a price range of $5.00 to $15.00. Not to mention, the products definitely do the job, smell great and leave the skin feeling fresh and not overly exfoliated. In particular, I tried out the Vitamin C Body Scrub and Face Wash, which I loved. As Bethenny put it best, the face wash and scrub had "the right proportion of oil to scrub and not too much fragrance, the ingredients aren't harsh at all and really can work for any skin type."

She's also got a few beautifying and comforting items for moms, a market that she's now very familiar with since giving birth to her first child Brynne in 2010. Since becoming a mother Bethenny told us how her skin care routine has changed, "I really am more into it now, I like the ritual of being in my bathroom for 10-15 minutes and just having that alone time." She also added, "I also think that because I am getting older, I want to take better care of my skin and moisturizing and using SPF, which I never really cared about that when I was younger."

And on a non-mom note, what to do the morning after a few too many (SkinnyGirl) margaritas? Bethenny told us that she likes "an under eye cream or patch for hangovers." She continues, "I'm actually adding something like that to the line for the next round, it will be a type of cooling patch for under the eyes."

As for her stint as a reality tv star, Bethenny's not quite sure if she's ready to sign on for another season of "Bethenny Ever After." It doesn't mean she's completely finished with reality tv though, Bethenny revealed that she does like the genre, especially "The Real Housewives of Atlanta." Her favorite housewife? Kandi Burris, "because she flies above the haters."

Whether Bethenny chooses to go back to the world of reality tv or not, we're definitely sold on SkinnyGirl skin care, and look forward to what's in store for the line down the road.
