Majority Of Republicans Want Newt Gingrich And Ron Paul To Drop Out: Poll

Most Republicans want Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul to drop out, according to a CNN/ORC International poll released Tuesday.

Sixty percent of Republicans want Gingrich to drop out of the race, while 61 percent want Paul to exit. Twenty-seven percent said Gingrich had "absolutely no chance," while 42 percent said the same for Paul. Gingrich and Paul, however, have vowed to stay in the race through the GOP convention in Tampa.

More Republicans, however, wanted Rick Santorum to remain in the race; 59 percent said he should stay in and 39 percent said he should drop out. As for Mitt Romney, 77 percent wanted him to stay in and 21 percent wanted the front-runner to drop out.

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R), Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) and Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) have urged the GOP to get behind Romney in recent days.

Overall, 36 percent supported Mitt Romney, 26 percent went for Santorum, 17 percent for Paul and 15 percent for Gingrich.
