Jack White's Third Man Releases First 3 RPM Record

Jack White recently celebrated the third anniversary of his label Third Man Records with an event in Nashville, and as a parting gift to all of his guests, each attendee received a 3 RPM record, reports Pitchfork.

No, not a 33 RPM, an actual -- though nearly inaudible -- 3 RPM record. That means that it's intended to spin at three revolutions per minute, which, up until now, had never been done.

The record features every "Blue Series" single that Third Man Records has ever released. White's label describes the record as "easy to play but impossible to hear ... We estimate it would take 333 days of 33 hours training per day for your finger, hand, and arm muscles to spin at a continuous speed of 3 rpm for X hours and X minutes."

Guests also enjoyed a surprise live set from White, who played tracks off his new solo album Blunderbuss. White also made headline earlier this month after declaring that there was "absolutely no chance" of a possible White Stripes reunion.
