Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) is still saying thanks, but no thanks to speculation that he could be the GOP's vice presidential nominee.
Last week, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R), who endorsed Mitt Romney for president, said that Rubio would be the best pick for the VP slot, calling him, "dynamic, joyful, disciplined and principled."
But Rubio repeated previous statements that he's not interested in the job.
"It's not going to happen," Rubio told MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell on Wednesday. "I'm obviously flattered that people think about me that way. There are some things I'd like to get done here in the United States Senate. I'm enjoying the role that we have here."
"Of couse, you would have a lot more power as vice president, potentially," Mitchell pressed.
"Oh, you think so?" Rubio responded. "Well, I'm enjoying my time in the Senate. It's a privilege to serve here, and it's really what I'm focused on. I'm not going to be the vice presidential nominee, but I'm always flattered when people bring it up. I think they mean it as a compliment."

It's not the first time Rubio has said he'd turn down an offer. "I am not going to be the vice presidential nominee. I am not going to be the vice presidential nominee," he said in October.
