Tracy Stapleton, N.J. Mother Of 5, Goes From Homeless To Preschool Teacher, Pays It Forward

Homeless Mom Of 5 Goes From Streets To Preschool Classroom

Once homeless, a New Jersey mom of five now has quite a few lessons to teach her preschool students.

After losing her job, Tracy Stapleton's life quickly spiraled downward when she and her kids were evicted from their Newark, N.J. home, Fox News reports.

"You try so hard you make the sacrifices to do what you need to do," Stapleton told the news outlet, "but just a simple turn of events can just unravel everything."

The down-and-out mother turned to New Community Corporation, which helps those in need find housing and personal success.

Stapleton was able to move her family into a new apartment and went back to school to get a degree in early childhood education. Today, she spends her days working for New Community Corporation's preschool.

"When they helped me and helped my family, they defined my life," she told Fox News. "This is what I'm doing now for the rest of my life because there are other people just like me. Numerous people just like me and I need to be there for them."
